Labiaplasty

It may not be the most talked about cosmetic surgery, but labiaplasty is a popular choice of treatment for many women who feel embarrassed about the appearance of their most intimate area. The goal of labiaplasty surgery is to reduce the size of the area of the female genitalia called the labia minora. Most people know these better as the flaps of skin that fall on either side of the vaginal opening. Although many patients choose labiaplasty for cosmetic reasons, there is a percentage of women who experience health or comfort issues, such as rubbing on clothes or discomfort during sex or exercise, as a result of particularly large labia minora and so they seek surgery for more practical reasons.

Labiaplasty can be performed using local or general anesthetic depending on your preference. Your surgeon will address the excess tissue on the labia minora, cutting away any excess tissue and reshaping the vaginal lips so that they look and feel tidier and tighter. Any sutures will be dissolvable so that you will not have to undergo another procedure to remove them. The entire process usually takes less than two hours and you should be able to go home the same day.

It can several weeks to fully heal after a labiaplasty surgery. During this time, you will need to take special care to keep the area clean and infection-free, avoid sexual activity and physical exercise for at least 6 to 12 weeks, and follow any other post-surgical advice given to you by our team.
