Dermal Fillers

dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are one of the most popular aesthetic techniques for changing and enhancing your appearance. There are many different brands of dermal fillers, but they essentially all work in the same way – by adding volume to the targeted area in order to stretch the skin and fill lines and wrinkles. This gives the patients a more rejuvenated and youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers are sometimes called ‘injectables’ and this is because this is their method of being administered. The pre-determined amount of filler is placed into the syringe and then injected into the targeted area. Dermal fillers are most often used on the lower half of the face since this is the area that loses volume and begins to sag with age. The results are not permanent, and patients will require further treatment in the future if they wish to sustain their new appearance.

Dermal fillers are an extremely effective treatment for patients hoping to achieve a fuller face and smoother skin, and we are pleased to offer a number of different varieties here at our cosmetic surgery offices in Weston, FL.

belotero

Belotero

Belotero is a very popular brand of dermal filler. The main ingredient within Belotero is Hyaluronic Acid or HA. HA is a natural-occurring, moisture-binding ingredient that helps keep skin plump and hydrated. In fact, it is so moisture-binding that it can retain 1000 times its weight in water within the cells of the skin, making it an excellent moisturizer.

The effects of injectable HA can be seen immediately and include a reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and facial folds, improved facial structure, added volume to the face and lips and a refreshed appearance.

There are several different Belotero facial fillers, including:

  • Belotero Volume: designed for restoration of facial volume in cheeks/cheekbones, chin and general facial volume loss.

  • Belotero Balance: designed for the correction of moderate lines such as those in the nasolabial folds, glabellar lines, and smoker’s lines.

  • Belotero Intense: designed to correct deeper lines such as marionette lines and significant nasolabial folds.

Based on clinical evidence, Belotero products typically last from six to twelve months depending on the product chosen.

radiesse

Radiesse

Radiesse is another very popular choice for patients interested in dermal fillers. The principle component in Radiesse is synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite, which stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen. Collagen is the main protein within the body and is responsible for ensuring skin is strong and elastic. Radiesse provides immediate volume to the target area, as well as boosting natural collagen production so that skin becomes stronger, tighter and smoother.

The results of Radiesse have been shown to last for up to two years, making it one of the longest-lasting dermal fillers currently available.

juvederm

Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a dermal filler that uses Hyaluronic Acid to induce a volume-boosting effect. It is most often used to increase the fullness of the cheeks and smooth out the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Juvéderm is also used to plump the lips, giving them a fuller and more sensual appearance.

Again, there are a variety of different Juvéderm products to choose from depending on the extent of your issues and the area you wish to target. Our expert team will be delighted to help you find the Juvéderm solution that will best fit your needs. After your initial treatment, you can expect to see the optimal result within three weeks. Studies suggest that results can be sustained for between six and twelve months depending on the patient.

Restylane

Restylane also uses Hyaluronic Acid to fill those areas of the face where you have lost volume, with many patients using it to fill lines and wrinkles primarily in the lower half of the face. Some patients also use it to improve the appearance of the backs of their hands, which may also be showing signs of aging.

There are many different Restylane products, each designed to target a specific area or problem. For example, Restylane Silk is a filler that is the first FDA-approved product specifically designed for lip augmentation and the smoothing of wrinkles around the mouth, which are particularly common in smokers. Our team can recommend the correct RestylaneÒ product for you based on the severity of your lines and the improvement that you wish to make.
